The idea he explains and the way he made this work interests me very much.
By this work, he seems to describe the one who lives in the dark but desire sunlight and beauty. The designer uses a "she" to represent some particular people.
"She" is looking at the everything outside through the window. The world "she" sees is pretty and free.
It looks that "She" stays in a dark room alone. The smoke of cigarette showes "her" certain kind of spirit, like "she" is thinking about something or struggling in her mind.
In this picture, "she" makes up her face. She try to make "herself" look pretty, just like Marylin Monroe.
"She" done "her" face-painting and turn around to try to look through the window which is covered with shades.
The designer uses inanimate doll as a representation, which describes some people's kind of declining spirit. The push pin and staples on doll's head and face compare with the doll that is originally beatiful, which greatly stimulate people. It mainly showes a desire towards beauty. I like the way she make this work.
For a relation to what we learned in class, the designer make all part work togather very well. They collaberate and respectively play own roles. Besides, the materials he uses are all from normal life, which is easy for people to handle and get the meaning.
